This ambitious initiative tackled different problems, with four workshops mentored by different organizations with expertise in each area:

Gender and justice
Despite advances in legislation, difficulties persist in addressing the social problems that gender violence presents in Argentina. According to the latest data obtained from the Single Registry of Cases of Violence against Women of INDEC, in the period of 2013 to 2018, there were 576,360 cases of gender violence in Argentina. Although there are no updated registered cases in 2019, there is also no clear and precise information about initiating a complaint. On the other hand, some women do register complaints, and there is no data to estimate how many women do so. For this reason, this panel proposed to address the problem of accessibility to informational resources to which all women who have experienced gender violence should have access. We aimed to prototype a tool that can function as a resource map and contains resources that can provide them assistance and justice in one place. To do this, they worked with different official databases and analyzed relevant technologies. The challenge was led by Women in Equality.

Comprehensive sex education
Since the approval of the Comprehensive Sexual Education Law in Argentina in 2006, no tool has been developed at the governmental level that allows the monitoring and analysis across different provinces of the country, which, in turn, would enable us to see visible results and recognize problems. The Comprehensive Sexual Education Law, or “ESI,” is a key right and free empowerment tool for children and adolescents, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health, body and sexuality. It also provides the necessary information to prevent situations of abuse and teaches about privacy protection, respect for diversity, best birth control practices, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections. For this reason, this workshop proposed the development of a tool for these purposes, through two surveys. The idea is that they would allow the current situation to be surveyed at the federal level, focusing on secondary education. One would be given to students to understand how well this education is being implemented in classrooms, and another given to teachers to allow them to provide an account of their ESI training. Participants in the workshop created the surveys, starting with previously created ones which had been generated by the Guest Foundation and the data obtained from them. The challenge was led by the Guest Foundation and the College of Sociologists of the City of Buenos Aires.

Diversity and inclusion:
Although Argentina has recently made progress in the legislative field due to diversity and inclusion, at the social and cultural level, there are still gaps. Regarding tourism, discrimination against members of the LGBTIQ collective persists in different areas. Along these lines, this panel proposed working on a technological tool that would function as a resource map and contain open data on cultural, recreational, tourist, leisure and recreation spaces that promote diversity as a core value. The challenge was led by Trans Argentinxs.

Economic violence and gender:
Economic gender violence is one of the types of violence that is more normalized and less visible in our society. Within the framework of Lw 26,485, the country has little official data on this violence that would allow for generating evidence-based analyses at the national level. For this reason, this panel worked with the few databases and analyses they could obtain from different organizations at the national and international levels. They then proposed a project to analyze this information and account for the registration of missing official data. This would consist of generating an awareness campaign. They promoted requests for the collection, analysis, and opening of more data to spread awareness aboutthe state of the situation. It would also allow for the generation of initiatives to address pertinent government measures and review the impact of public policies implemented with a gender perspective. The challenge was led by Mujeres en Carrera.
